Congratulations on your engagement! If you haven’t started yet, it’s time to start planning your wedding ceremony and reception. Ideas may flow in your mind at an alarming rate. Family members and friends will most likely give you their ideas too. How do you understand everything? A wedding planning list is an ideal and important tool for organizing your wedding day.

The wedding planning list is a little different from the wedding checklist. The planning list is an overall picture of what you want for your wedding and the estimated costs of each major category. Many couples now tie ties later on. Most of the time, both the bride and groom are well-established in their careers and have more money to spend than young couples leaving school or college. The average wedding expenses are around $ 15,000 to $ 30,000, so it’s important to spell out how the money will be spent beforehand.

Examples of items included in this list might include the following: photographer, flowers, ceremony location and fees, reception location, wedding assistance, wedding dresses and tuxedos for brides, formal wear for weddings, wedding rings, invitations and stationery, music and entertainment, hotel names for out-of-town guests, and gifts for family members.

The wedding planning list must also include:

1) Vendor information including name and contact telephone number

2) Alternative locations for ceremonies and receptions if scheduled as an outdoor event

3) The timeline for the event and the person responsible for each

4) Choice of songs for the ceremony

5) The order of the wedding party and how they will walk down the aisle

Reception should be planned using a wedding planning list too. Some items to include are the names of your wedding and family for introductions, music that will be played when they enter the reception area, seating charts, special dances and music, time to toast and blessings, and menus with a start and end time.

Appoint one person to ensure that all your vendors are paid accordingly on your wedding day. Include the vendor’s name, the amount to be paid, and the payment method they will receive on the wedding planning list.
